My values & background

My name is Tiffany Saunders, I’m a registered clinical social worker based in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people, also known today as Nova Scotia. I feel honoured to have grown up on this land, being surrounded by nature, and the beautiful connections it has helped me nurture.

My background in social work shapes the way that I approach my work, taking a holistic approach, and honoring the complexity of people’s lived experiences. I center the impact of trauma and systemic oppression in my practice, understanding how deeply these experiences shape individual and collective well-being.

I’m guided by the belief that we have a shared responsibility to create meaningful change; inspired by the ancient wisdom traditions that honor our interconnectedness to one another and to nature. This work inspires me because I’ve personally experienced the power of reconnecting with my body’s innate wisdom, the intelligence of nature, and the transformative power of presence that emerges in relationship with ourselves and others. For me, healing is a process of returning to oneself, and we do this by honoring the mind, body, emotions, and the parts of us that long to be seen, understood and integrated.
